What command? I would receive Error 0xcF Access denied the requested action requires elevated privileges. I have ran the cmd prompt as admin so why would I receive that error? Where's the message that caused it? We had this on 3 computers. This laptop had norton but recently expired. Spike Jul 10, at UTC. There are lots of options out there. My point was that Malwarebytes isn't a full AV product so shouldn't be expected to catch everything.
If this happened on multiple machine, with different AV installed, though? It's a lot less likely that it's an infection. Was something new installed? Any Updates? After speaking to dell they had me make sure the bios drivers where up to date and then installed the serial ata driver.
When all else failed we did a system restore and all is good for now. So to recap it looks like there is an issue with windows update that causes this issue.
