Jan 08, · The symptoms are the same as many here: no sound from built-in speakers, sound is fine from headphone jacks, worked in Vista Home Premium bit with no issues but does not work in Win 7 Pro bit. I have also run every Microsoft Troubleshooter (both from the OS and the download locations), Dell Troubleshooter, and others and not one of them. This is the most common sound setup for a desktop computer environment and includes many types of headphones, desktop speakers, and sound systems. Many monitors with built-in speakers also support a speaker connection using a separate audio cable connected from the computer to the monitor (not an HDMI connection).
